To answer your next question, it is pronounced "Ant-toe-notch-ee,"—while waving your hand, of course. I am a lover of stories, long runs without sound, the New York Yankees, my puppy, Dante, the musky scent of a new book, teas that don't begin with chai, and every sunset I've ever met. And most recently, the word hope.
I am an eater of plants and a peddler of words—partial to the uplifting ones. You know, the ones that read like tiny pep talks for the soul—those gorgeous gems.
You probably landed here because you read something I wrote—a column, a poem, perspective from 21 weeks of bed rest. Or maybe you heard me chatting on live radio or a pod about an insight from my upcoming book. Or perhaps you stumbled on my TED Talk or heard me speak on the topic of optimism, resilience, or storytelling. Or maybe you discovered The Daily Uplift™ and want to share your story, or learn more about the gal behind the pen and pupp shenanigans. Whatever the reason, I'm so grateful you made it.
I hope you'll stick around and find some inspiration for yourself. I hope you'll join me in my mission by sharing your beautiful story with me. I hope you'll leave here feeling a little more uplifted, just for having showed up.
Words Became My Lifeline
I STARTED WRITING FROM MY RECOVERY BED
Mostly tiny pep talks addressed to my soul. After 21 weeks of bedrest, I needed something to change my perspective and help me heal. One day, I shared what I wrote and as a result, built a global fanbase reaching over half a million people.
